Solving Quadratic Equations using Quadratic Formula

   If  $a{x}^2+bx+c$ = 0, then $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-b}\pm \sqrt{b^2-\mathrm{4ac}}}{\mathrm{2a}}$

So, if  $10x^2-15x-10$ = 0, then

     $x$ =  $\frac{-(-15)\pm \sqrt{{(\mathrm{-15})}^2-(4)(10)(-10)}}{(2)(10)}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{15}\pm \sqrt{225+400}}{\mathrm{20}}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{15}\pm \sqrt{625}}{\mathrm{20}}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{15}\pm 25}{\mathrm{20}}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{40}{20}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-10}{20}$

or,  $x$ =  $2$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-1}{2}$
