Solving Quadratic Equations using Quadratic Formula

   If  $a{x}^2+bx+c$ = 0, then $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-b}\pm \sqrt{b^2-\mathrm{4ac}}}{\mathrm{2a}}$

So, if  $x^2+13x+22$ = 0, then

     $x$ =  $\frac{-(13)\pm \sqrt{{(\mathrm{13})}^2-(4)(1)(22)}}{(2)(1)}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-13}\pm \sqrt{169-88}}{2}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-13}\pm \sqrt{81}}{2}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-13}\pm 9}{2}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-4}{2}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-22}{2}$

or,  $x$ =  $-2$ or,  $x$ =  $-11$
