Solving Quadratic Equations using Quadratic Formula

   If  $a{x}^2+bx+c$ = 0, then $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-b}\pm \sqrt{b^2-\mathrm{4ac}}}{\mathrm{2a}}$

So, if  $2x^2-5x+2$ = 0, then

     $x$ =  $\frac{-(-5)\pm \sqrt{{(\mathrm{-5})}^2-(4)(2)(2)}}{(2)(2)}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{5\pm \sqrt{25-16}}{4}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{5\pm \sqrt{9}}{4}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{5\pm 3}{4}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{8}{4}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{2}{4}$

or,  $x$ =  $2$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{1}{2}$
