Solving Quadratic Equations using Quadratic Formula

   If  $a{x}^2+bx+c$ = 0, then $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-b}\pm \sqrt{b^2-\mathrm{4ac}}}{\mathrm{2a}}$

So, if  $3x^2+82x+27$ = 0, then

     $x$ =  $\frac{-(82)\pm \sqrt{{(\mathrm{82})}^2-(4)(3)(27)}}{(2)(3)}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-82}\pm \sqrt{6724-324}}{6}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-82}\pm \sqrt{6400}}{6}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-82}\pm 80}{6}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-2}{6}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-162}{6}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{-1}{3}$ or,  $x$ =  $-27$
