When you click a blank space, it gets highlighted with red border and any image that can go into that space are highlighted too in red border in the bottom image list. When the game is started, the first blank in the first row is automatically highlighted and any image that can go into that blank space is highlighted in the bottom image list. You can highlight an image only if it is occupying an original blank space. If for some reason, you want to remove the image from a previously filled blank space, then highlight that image by clicking on it, then click the blank space in the bottom image list.It is good idea not to guess to fill a blank. Be absolutely sure what will go into a blank space, then click that image from the bottom image list. However, this is the case when only one image in the bottom image list is highlighted. And, in that case, you don't have to come down to click on the image from the image list. You can just double click on the blank space in the game to fill it with the only image available for it.
The game has two levels of difficulty. In the easy level, the number of blanks will be between 35 and 39. In the hard level, the number of blanks will be between 40 and 44. The level of difficulty and the number of blanks started with are updated at the top of the game when you select a new level for the game, also the timer is restarted. The timer stops when the game is complete. The timer can be restarted only by selecting a new game.
